Triathlon

The Mid-Atlantic Showcase Triathlon is an Invitational event, offered for competitors in both the Championship and Performance programs, composed of three rounds.

Requirement for Invitation

To be eligible to enter the Championship or Performance Triathlon, the dog must have earned a qualifying score in a Grand Prix/PGP or Steeplechase/PSJ class at any USDAA event between the dates of April 20, 2015 and April 8, 2016, inclusive. [Dates to be revised]

An ineligible dog may be entered in the Triathlon or Performance Triathlon if they have not already qualified based upon the expectation that they will earn a qualifying score on or before April 18, 2015. Note that they may earn the qualification at either the Grand Prix or Steeplechase local qualifying tournament offered at the Showcase event.  A separate check for the Triathlon must be sent with the entry.

Triathlon - Description

Triathlon Round 3 is judged under Masters rules, except that refusals are not scored.  The course is a Masters level design consisting of 17 to 20 obstacles which must include one contact obstacle and one set of weave poles, as well as other obstacles chosen from the following: wing jump, wingless jump, spread jump, extended spread jump, long jump, tire jump, pipe tunnel, viaduct/wall jump, and chute tunnel. This round is scored time plus faults.

Awards

Prizes and awards will be made in each height division based upon the final standings from Triathlon Round 3.
